This document seeks to clarify what person-centred care is. It aims to highlight some key ideas and major stakes.

Caring for the elderly implies responding to many things. Not only is it offering a number of services or care. It is providing support and new opportunities of life. It is about giving each person the best life possible. Not all types of care, not all professional services are equal or make it possible to achieve all of these goals.

Person-centred care is a proposal for good life from professional care. A model for good care and increasing people’s quality of life. Those who need help and support, but also the professionals that commit, day after day, with a good practice.

It is what we want for our family and friends, or for ourselves, when care is needed.
