Erkuden Aldaz

Diploma in Social Work from the Public University of Navarra (2004) and a degree in Psychology from the University of the Basque Country (2009). She has completed a Master's degree in "Psychology: Individual, group, organisation and culture" at the latter university (2011). Her doctoral thesis deals with the identification of keys for the generation of local ecosystems of care from People-Centred Care. Her work activity has focused on projects for the promotion of social and emotional resources for the self-care and care of people in need of care and those who care for them.

Thus, on the one hand, her work has led to the design and development of socio-emotional education programmes aimed at the elderly, family carers and health professionals, and on the other, she has developed projects aimed at transforming the current model of care towards people-centred approaches, from a community perspective, covering the change in the residential and home care models, with special attention to the construction of caregiving municipalities or neighbourhoods. She has been a psychologist for the SENDIAN programme of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, where she has provided individual and group psychological support as well as training for carers of dependent elderly people. She is currently, since 2021, Co-director of Matia Instituto.
