Long-term care refers to the support that people need to take care of themselves due to disability and/or dependency. Depending on the degree of limitation, support can be provided at home, in the community or in institutions.

The objectives of the course are: to promote reflection on the care model of the future, to analyse current and future challenges, as well as to learn about good practices and trends in this field at international level. In short, the course aims to promote a framework for reflection and exchange that allows for the sharing of experiences and knowledge in order to move towards a model of long-term care adapted to the needs of society.

The course is aimed at all professionals involved in different areas of long-term care, as well as social professionals who wish to further their knowledge: social workers, psychologists, social mediators, carers, etc.

Course subject to recognition, via the Commission for the Recognition of Training Activities, by the Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Cantabria for the purposes of teacher training in Primary and Secondary Education, depending on the teacher's speciality.
