Lecture: “Palliative Care: Supporting Life Until the Very Last Breath

The Usurbil City Council is organizing the series “Komunitatetik, heriotzaz,” a municipal initiative focused on breaking the taboo surrounding death and creating spaces to discuss the end of life from a community perspective.

In this context, Matia is participating in the series with a session focused on palliative care, addressing end-of-life support from a holistic perspective. Our colleague Nerea Manterola, a psychologist on the EAPS team, will give a lecture titled “Palliative Care: Accompanying Life Until the Last Breath,” in which she explains how palliative care supports both the individual and their loved ones during advanced stages of illness.

Her work is part of the La Caixa Foundation’s comprehensive care program for people with advanced illnesses, an initiative aimed at improving quality of life at the end of life by incorporating emotional, psychological, and social support.
