5th Meeting of Local Councils in the Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities: Sharing experiences, transforming environments: towards a World Congress

The 5th Meeting of Local Councils, held at the Imserso headquarters in Madrid, brings together municipal representatives and experts in active ageing to share lessons learned and strengthen the network of age-friendly cities. The conference will feature national and international speakers linked to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and various public administrations, who will address the following topics:

• 3rd World Congress on Age-Friendly Cities.
• Cities in transition: how they grow and transform.
• Housing, care, community and sustainability.
• Sharing and living together: the power of intergenerational solidarity.
• Group work: proposals for the World Congress and the Age-Friendly Cities Award.

Among the guest speakers was our colleague Elena del Barrio, Director of Social Policies and Contexts at Matia Institute, whose participation focused on the importance of supporting older people's desire to remain in their own homes, even when they need care. And to achieve this, the need to promote friendly environments and spaces.
