Listening to anticipate: the needs and expectations of the over-50s in Bizkaia
Demographic change and increased life expectancy present new social, economic and public policy challenges. To anticipate these, it is essential to listen to the public themselves.
This conference, organised by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, presents the main findings of the Study on the needs of the population aged over 50 in Bizkaia, an evidence-based study that provides an up-to-date snapshot of the perceptions, expectations and demands of this key demographic group.
In addition to the presentation of the study, a panel of experts will analyse the results from various academic and applied perspectives, providing insights to guide policies on longevity and the demographic challenge.
Among the participants is our colleague Elena del Barrio, Director of Social Policies and Contexts at Matia Institute and author of the first chapter of this study, with a text on ‘Ageism and the experience of ageing’.
