Talk | How do we want to live as we get older?

Housing plays a key role in how we want to grow old. At this public talk, we will learn about two initiatives launched by the Basque Government and Alokabide that explore new opportunities to facilitate access to housing and promote alternative ways of living and coexisting.

The session will feature Patricia Val, Director-General of Alokabide, Arkaitz Arbaizagoitia, Finance Director of Alokabide, and Denis Itxaso, Minister for Housing and Urban Agenda of the Basque Government.

Listening to anticipate: the needs and expectations of the over-50s in Bizkaia

Demographic change and increased life expectancy present new social, economic and public policy challenges. To anticipate these, it is essential to listen to the public themselves.

This conference, organised by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, presents the main findings of the Study on the needs of the population aged over 50 in Bizkaia, an evidence-based study that provides an up-to-date snapshot of the perceptions, expectations and demands of this key demographic group.

9th Conference on European Best Practices in Friendliness

A new event organised by Euskadi Lagunkoia, the network of friendly municipalities in the Basque Country promoted by the Basque Government's Department of Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge, which aims to encourage the participation of older people and the general public in improving neighbourhoods and environments in the municipalities of the Basque Country so that we can continue to live our lives as we age.

The conference will take place on 12 November at the Palacio de Europa in Vitoria-Gasteiz, focusing on a highly topical issue: housing and intergenerationality.

Keys to change: transforming the homelessness system of care

Senior Cooperative Housing Forum

Under the slogan “community care, the key to healthy aging”, this forum, organized by the Senior Section of the Cooperative Housing Group of REAS Red de Redes, presented and discussed the different areas necessary to promote non-profit co-housing housing models for the elderly until the end of life, more affordable, sustainable and with community-based care, which promote healthier aging and multiple social benefits.

Innovation and Intergenerational Solidarity: Project SHARE

9th ACRA Conference in ACP. "How people of the 21st century want to live aging. ACP in a changing world".

Ninth edition of ACRA's conference in ACP in which one of the most important challenges facing the sector is faced: how to respond to aging in an increasingly changing world. An appointment in which to discover innovative pioneering experiences in a framework of participation and debate open to attendees.

Among the participants will be Iraide Robles, social worker and case manager of Matia, and Juncal Gárate, a neighbor of Lugaritz supported housing. Both will share their vision of this innovative housing based on a home model perspective and a community approach.
