Longitudinal studies: contributions to addressing the challenges of ageing

An ageing population poses challenges in ensuring the well-being of this demographic and requires changes to social and health policies, long-term care and housing environments, amongst other areas. Collaborative housing cooperatives

he Canary Islands are exploring new approaches to housing access at an event on collaborative housing cooperatives to be held on 22 May at Club La Provincia in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This event provides a forum for meeting and dialogue to share experiences, lessons learnt and ways forward regarding cooperative housing under a right-of-use arrangement in the Canary Islands.

Listening to anticipate: the needs and expectations of the over-50s in Bizkaia

Demographic change and increased life expectancy present new social, economic and public policy challenges. To anticipate these, it is essential to listen to the public themselves.

This conference, organised by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, presents the main findings of the Study on the needs of the population aged over 50 in Bizkaia, an evidence-based study that provides an up-to-date snapshot of the perceptions, expectations and demands of this key demographic group.

Innovation and Intergenerational Solidarity: Project SHARE

The Department of Social Sustainability, Life Cycle and Community of the Diputació de Barcelona organizes the 33rd edition of the Summer School, a space for reflection, exchange and knowledge about local policies that brings together more than 300 people from the political and professional sphere of the municipalities of the province of Barcelona. An event that hosts a wide range of events in conference, round table and workshop format with the aim of promoting debate and advancing innovation in local public policies.

Walking the talk for dementia Symposium

On 5 and 6 May we will meet in the Auditorium of the Hotel San Francisco in Santiago de Compostela to talk about how we live, work and research dementia today, providing ideas for a fairer and more inclusive future for all.

Among the speakers, our colleague and researcher at Matia Institute, Sara Marsillas, will participate in a panel on non-pharmacological interventions, sharing with the audience our experience in bringing the world of culture and art closer to people with dementia from the DCUM project.
