He has a degree in Social Work from the Public University of Navarra (2004) and a licentiate in Psychology from the University of the Basque Country (2009). She earned a Master’s in “Psychology: Individual, group, organisation and culture" from the University of the Basque Country (2011). She is currently conducting her doctoral studies at the same university. Her Thesis project focuses on the study of emotional variables, such as empathy, alexithymia and emotional intelligence, and their association with Burnout in health assistants at Gerontology Centres. Her career has been focused on projects that study social and emotional variables associated with the paradigm of healthy ageing, which have led to the design and development of social and emotional education programmes for health professionals in direct contact with the elderly and the elderly themselves. She is currently involved in several research projects both nationally and internationally related to psychosocial factors that influence the wellbeing of the elderly and their caregivers. She is also a psychologist in the SENDIAN programme initiated by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, where she administers individual and group counselling and training for caregivers of dependent elderly people.
