 Tipo: Jornada
Línea de conocimiento: Active aging and friendliness
 Localización: Calvià

Matia Institute is participating in a conference organised by Calvià Town Council as part of the celebrations for International Older Persons Day. This annual event aims to raise awareness in society about the role and needs of older people, promote their active participation and jointly address current issues that affect their well-being. At the same time, it aims to maintain a community meeting place to celebrate the day dedicated to older people in the municipality.

This year, the conference is dedicated to reflection and debate on the municipality and environments that are friendly to older people. During the event, our colleague Elena del Barrio, Director of Social Policies and Contexts at Matia Institute, will give a presentation entitled ‘Promoting friendliness through the active citizenship of older people.’ She will also participate in the round table discussion "Network of Age-Friendly Cities. Good practices and proposals" alongside María Lis Contreras, coordinator of the Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities in Spain at IMSERSO; Biel Horrach, municipal architect for the Roads and Works Department of Calvià Town Council; and Cristina Gamundí, social intervention and elderly care technician at Calvià Town Council.

The conference will take place in the Sala Palmanova on 26 September from 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Registration is now open at the following link https://forms.gle/ADgMAxmDUiTRuLY67 or by telephone on 971 139 173 or by email at calviasocial@calvia.com.
