Workshop: Innovative solutions to combat loneliness and social isolation in the world’s major cities

  Date:
13/01/2026
 Type: Workshop
Line of Knowledge: Active aging and friendliness

The second international workshop organised as part of the ‘Senior Solitude’ research project will take place on Tuesday 13 January in Paris. This event provides an opportunity to foster collective reflection on public policies aimed at combating isolation among older people, drawing on international perspectives and the initial findings of the survey conducted in Paris in 2025.
Our colleague, Elena del Barrio, Director of Policies and Social Contexts at Matia Institute, is taking part in the workshop to share some of the experiences and lessons learnt in recent years regarding age-friendliness.
