Our colleague, Maider Azurmendi, Director of Home and Community Care at Matia, is taking part in this cycle of conferences, organised by Astigarraga Town Council, speaking on: "The ageing process and new responses to new needs".

Ethical aspects and the growing trend towards deinstitutionalisation and the promotion of ageing at home, a fundamental pillar of municipal services for the elderly, will also be addressed. Knowing that the experience in the model is greater in the world of centres and especially in residential centres, it is essential to address the model also at home.

Addressing long-term care at home is a challenging subject to analyse and study due to the possibilities of reformulating the conceptual framework, based on comprehensive models centred on users with ecosystemic approaches adapted to the territory.

It is increasingly important to consider the advances that are being developed in long-term care, in order to respond to the needs and concerns of people who want to remain at home, promoting, maintaining and preserving their autonomy as much as possible.

Dissemination day of the results of the QAVAD project
