Deba Care Ecosystem

2023–2024

The Deba care ecosystem has been established to transform the reality of the care systems in the town of Deba in a participatory and diverse manner. To this end, an initial year of participatory process has been planned, characterised by a steering group of 14 participants who represent the different facets of Deba’s care system.

Specifically, it comprises social services managers, care professionals, various representatives of political parties on Deba Town Council, a local community nurse, care service providers, the town council, the mayor’s office, care recipients, live-in carers, care-related associations, family carers, and so on.

The discussions held were shared at a meeting on 30 June. This was an open, participatory and festive event that served as a forum for exchanging views and engaging with the topics under discussion, as well as for the future development of its roadmap, architectural proposals for innovative care facilities and practical implementation by 2025.

2024–2025

Following the initial steps in establishing the core group to create Deba’s care ecosystem, the next steps focus on consolidating the ecosystem itself and broadening the perspective on care.

Working towards a unified culture of care, through a participatory process and with the participation, collaboration and involvement of community stakeholders. With the essential participation of the Town Council, the residents of Deba, Community Social Services, Health Services and other key figures in the process of creating the ecosystem, various ideas are being explored.

The aim? A shared definition of CARE for DEBA, a map of key stakeholders, individuals and services central to care, and to broaden the perspective and dialogue surrounding care.

How? Through the participation, coordination and reflection of the steering group, creating broader spaces for reflection via working groups, developing social and health care coordination, and addressing care from all areas of the local council.
