Referral Professional in the Framework of Person-Centred Care

The aim of this project is the design and development of a specialisation programme called "Reference Professional in the framework of Person-Centred Care". The curricular design of this specialisation has been carried out within the framework of the Begirada project, and based on this, the didactic methodology of this specialisation is being developed, which will be carried out in DUAL format.

Thanks to the support of the Department of Employment and Social Policies of the Basque Government and the Department of Social Policies of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the piloting of the speciality will begin in March 2020 with a total of 9 students who will simultaneously carry out classroom training in the Kutxazabal- Nazaret Fundazioa centre and in the workplace, specifically in the gerontological centres of Matia Fundazioa, for a period of 15 months.

The first promotion of Reference Professionals in the framework of Person-Centred Care will complete their learning process in June 2021. It is hoped that these professionals and those trained in the future will make a decisive contribution to changing the care model in the Basque Country towards more person-centred models.
