Matia is taking part, alongside 12 other care organisations in Gipuzkoa, in the ‘En clave compartida’ project, which focuses on co-design and co-production of support and care services.
This project, launched by the Department of Care and Social Policies of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, together with SIIS, GSR and NUMA, in November 2025, is running throughout 2026 and aims to create collaborative learning spaces between the institutions and third-sector organisations taking part.
In Matia’s case, participation is taking place within the residential care setting. Specifically, work is being done to create spaces where people living in one of the homes (units) at the Rezola residential care centre can express their needs and interests so that these can be addressed collaboratively, together with staff and family members.
Objetives:
Through this project, Rezola aims to:
- Promote changes in relationships, roles and habits in accordance with a governance model that is consistent with the person-centred care model.
- To learn and implement strategies to promote participation and decision-making through co-production involving professionals, families and residents of Rezola.
- To establish a collaborative network with the other organisations participating in the DFG’s co-production support project.
Methodology:
Through the application of the co-production methodology, a co-production team has been set up comprising the residents of the selected housing block (2ª Lasarte) themselves, staff and family members, who have been meeting monthly since March to address the identified needs, following all the phases of a co-production process, from exploration and ideation through to development, adjustments and ongoing evaluation.
In implementing this methodology, we are supported by the DFG, the SIIS, GSR and NUMA, which takes the form of monthly training and shared learning sessions aimed at those of us leading the project within each organisation (the steering team), individual follow-up sessions for each organisation, and a project website providing tools and resources to guide the co-production process.
