Online meeting organised by the Socialist Municipal Group in the Salamanca City Council and the Jaime Vera Group, which aims to put on the table public policies aimed at promoting active ageing of the population through the adaptation of current residential models and the development of innovative models, closer to the elderly of today and tomorrow, by promoting their autonomy, independence, social inclusion and participation in the community.

The event provided an opportunity to share a series of good practices and innovative experiences for the well-being and quality of residential life of the elderly with three experts in this field: Paula María Álvarez Herrera, Director General of Social Rights Management of the Government of Asturias; José Ricardo Jáuregui, president of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, and our colleague, Heitor García Lantarón, head of architectural design at the Matia Foundation, who spoke about the Lugaritz project, a commitment to the design of lifelong housing from a people-centred care approach.
