The current social context has led to a profound change in the ways people relate to each other. The accumulated evidence on the effect of loneliness on health and well-being has made this phenomenon the focus of strategies by various public administrations, such as Hariak, Gipuzkoa's strategy to tackle loneliness (2022-2026), and the municipalities of Debagoiena.

The Debagoiena Ehuntzen project aims to contribute to tackling loneliness from an innovative approach through a driving project, creating a regional governance structure that promotes coordination and joint work in environments that are usually less present in research, such as rural habitats.

Objectives
The main objective of this project is to support the municipalities of Debagoiena, and Debagoiena as a region, in the implementation of a regional ecosystem to tackle loneliness from a community-based, normalizing, participatory, inclusive, and stigma-free perspective. To this end, a collective governance system will be developed based on the needs identified, which will enable progress to be made in tackling loneliness in the region, and a jointly agreed roadmap will be created.
