María Victoria Zunzunegui

Expert in Epidemiology

María Victoria Zunzunegui holds a PhD in epidemiology from the University of California at Berkeley. She was professor of epidemiology at the School of Public Health at the University of Montreal where she worked from 1999 to 2016. She remains an honorary professor at this institution. Her research deals with the social and economic factors associated with gender that determine health and functioning in old age.

She is currently collaborating with the Matia Foundation in the design, implementation and analysis of the longitudinal study Aging in the Basque Country, the main objective of which is to build a data platform to analyse the influence of living environments on the successful aging of the Basque population over 70 years of age.
