Guide aimed at older or aging people living with dementia and their caregivers and socio-family environment, which provides simple and useful information to identify the particular needs of those living with dementia and analyzes in detail the possibilities offered by adapting our home to this reality.

A matter, prepared from the perspective of people with dementia and their caregivers, which is divided into sections, according to the rooms that structure the home (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc.) and includes tips and recommendations on the different elements of each of them. In addition, it includes a section with suggestions on how to deal with some problems that may arise with the development of dementia.

This guide is a product that is part of the Euskadi Lagunkoia initiative, the network of friendly cities promoted by the Department of Employment and Social Policies of the Basque Government in collaboration with Matia Institute, which aims to encourage the participation of the elderly and citizens in general for the improvement of neighborhoods and environments in the municipalities of the Basque Country. One of the areas in which this initiative is working is housing, as this is essential for the safety and well-being of people. "Growing old at home", in addition to being a slogan of public policies in recent decades, is a widespread desire of most individuals.

Living in adequate, comfortable housing adapted to personal needs is a guarantee of maintaining autonomy and quality of life. Also for people living with dementia and those who accompany them in their daily lives.
